The end of the QualMent project
12. 11. 2021
From 2018 to 2021, the College of Nursing in Celje was the
coordinator of the European development and research project Quality mentorship
for developing competent nursing students (QualMent), which was selected within
the Erasmus + program, Strategic Partnerships in Higher Education.
The following partners participated in the project, which
ran from 1 September 2018 to 31 August 2021: European Federation of Nurses'
Associations (EFN), University of Oulu (Finland), University of Alicante
(Spain) and University of Health Sciences (Lithuania).
The project aim was to develop a training program for
clinical mentors for the quality implementation of clinical training in undergraduate study programs in the field of nursing, in line with the EU
directive. Based on the research evidence, we designed a competency model,
which was the basis for the preparation of an educational program for clinical
mentors. The training program was tested in 2020 in the form of lectures,
learning workshops and distance learning. We have also developed and published
Guidelines for the development of mentors competencies in clinical training.
The project has therefore officially ended on 31 August
2021, but activities are continuing. In the autumn months, intensive
dissemination of project results takes place, and the Autumn School of
Mentoring also takes place at the College of Nursing in Celje, which is
carried out in accordance with the educational program developed in the
project.
